The Cumbre Vieja volcano on La Palma has been active for 32 days.
Residents of the area have seen lava, ash, earthquakes and intermittent variation in air quality due to the gases rising from the volcano's mouths.
Some people who were evacuated in an emergency were allowed to return to their homes so that they could get what more they could before the imminent arrival of the lava.
