A migrant caravan called "mother caravan" will leave this Saturday from Tapachula, Chiapas, bound for Mexico City.
Speaking to Radio Fórmula, Irineo Mujica, director of Pueblos Sin Fronteras, explained that the intention of reaching the capital is for migrants to apply for protection to be able to circulate through Mexican territory.
The activist said he is not sure on what day the caravan could arrive, as he does not know what will happen on the way.

“That it is going to leave, it is going to leave (…) Marching is a right, we are not doing anything illegal.
We have sought all legal avenues.
If they stop us, if they hit us, we are ready, ”said Mujica.
