In addition to the online petition, the interest group Gymnasium Poing JETZT wrote a letter to District Administrator Robert Niedergesäß.

His position is as follows:

Poing - “Good education must not fail because of money!” The newly founded interest group Gymnasium Poing NOW formulated this in a further letter.

The online petition launched on Tuesday evening to the district council and district administrator Robert Niedergesäß had already over 1200 signatures by Friday afternoon.

A district council meeting on October 25 is to decide whether the construction of the grammar school will remain on the waiting list for an indefinite period of time or whether it will be completed as soon as possible.

The latter demands the interest group, which was founded a week ago and which is now supported by some groups and parties.

Now the initiators Andrea Lacour, Veronika Neu and Martina Pillath have also written a letter directly to District Administrator Niedergesäß.

With the following proposals (which are also aimed at the members of the district council): prioritizing the finances in favor of the grammar school and including it in the budget for 2022;

Immediate start of implementation planning and start of construction in 2022;

Feasibility analysis of an accelerated start, for example via a container solution and as a temporary branch of the Markt Schwaben high school.

At the request of our newspaper, District Administrator Robert Niedergesäß sent an e-mail via the press office of the District Office on Friday afternoon: “District Administrator Robert Niedergesäß is 100 percent behind the Poing High School.

It is decided by the district council and approved by the ministry.

The real estate transfer is (...) in final preparation.

So it is not about the 'whether', it must not be shaken.

It's about the 'how' or the 'when'. "

We want Poing High School and it will come because we need it!

According to Niedergesäß, the Poing high school currently costs around 100 million euros.

This must be financed by the district after deducting state subsidies.

In addition, the planned vocational school center in Grafing is another new school building project.

And: “More schools need to be expanded and renovated.

The district council has overall responsibility for the district and for orderly finances, which pose new challenges, especially after Corona, ”said Niedergesäß.

Robert Niedergesäß publishes statement

In his statement, the district administrator refers to the grammar schools in Markt Schwaben and Vaterstetten, which are “still receptive in the medium term”.

No student is on the street, writes Robert Niedergesäß.

And: “There is no entitlement to a local grammar school, but: We want the Poing grammar school and it will come because we need it!

We strive for the best solution, as soon as possible. "

District council decides on October 25th

In their address in the letter to the district administrator, Lacour, Neu and Pillath wrote: “You have already achieved a lot in the district.

However, we have now seen for a long time that the district council and the responsible politicians in the district continue to block the implementation of the high school in Poing, which has already been fully approved and is equipped with a building site. "

In 2017, the district council created the "School Master Plan", which included the construction of the grammar school as well as a vocational school center in Grafing.

In 2018, the Bavarian Ministry of Culture granted approval for the realization of the grammar school in Poing.

In 2020, the district council put the project (as well as the vocational school center) on a waiting list for financial reasons.

The opening was originally planned for September 2024.
