INTERVIEW - The actor took over, this fall, at the Antoine theater in Paris, Les Élucubrations d'un homme suddenly touched by grace, an exciting show of poetry, freedom, melancholy and energy.


LE FIGARO.- After more than a year of hiatus, how did you find your audience?

Édouard BAER.

One moment, in the show, I sit at the edge of the stage, I speak to the audience and I tell them how wonderful it is to all be sitting there.

Silently.

That that would basically suffice;

that even if nothing was happening on stage, there is at least the return of the public, to be together.

And that is not nothing.

We are like in a cathedral, there is an almost liturgical aspect.

You have to savor it.

Well, once we've announced that, you still have to go, play…!

But what happiness!
