Thousands of settlement units, which the Israeli occupation intends to establish in the West Bank, in parallel with the massive demolitions of Palestinian homes and facilities within the ongoing Judaization war against the Palestinians with the aim of displacing them from their land and seizing it.
The occupation authorities announced a new plan to establish 3,144 settlement units with the aim of expanding 30 settlements built on Palestinian lands in Salfit, Qalqilya, Bethlehem and Nablus, ignoring international resolutions that affirm the illegality of settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories and demand their cessation.
Head of the Settlement and Wall Resistance Commission, Walid Assaf, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the occupation is waging a fierce settlement war to displace thousands of Palestinians from their land after demolishing their homes, villages and towns, and severing geographical communication between Palestinian cities and towns to undermine the chances of establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, in parallel with the demolition of more than 600 homes. the Palestinians since the beginning of this year.
Assaf pointed out that the occupation continues to destroy Palestinian buildings, homes, agricultural and industrial facilities, and infrastructure, and escalates ethnic cleansing and apartheid practices to implement the process of colonial annexation, which the Palestinian people affirms their continued response to in order to thwart the colonial plans of the occupation.
Director of the Settlement and Wall Resistance Commission, Murad Eshteiwi, stated that settlement operations in the West Bank are divided into three stages. The first includes the establishment of thousands of settlement units in the settlements with the aim of expanding them, and the second is the seizure of the lands surrounding the settlements and those located between them, preventing Palestinians from building and residing in them or even cultivating them, and tightening the noose on villages And the towns and cities and the third stage, the construction of bypass roads on the Palestinian lands with the aim of linking the settlements with each other and limiting the passage of Palestinians in those areas through narrow gates and roads controlled by the occupation.
For his part, the coordinator of the Settlement and Wall Resistance Commission in the southern West Bank, Ratib Jabour, indicated that the Israeli occupation, in conjunction with its announcement of the 3144-unit settlement plan, began establishing a new settlement in the old city of Hebron, comprising dozens of settlement units, after seizing the old bus station as part of the first phase of its scheme. The settlement activity, which includes in its second phase, the seizure of dozens of houses surrounding this settlement, which threatens to isolate the neighborhoods of the city of Hebron from each other and displace dozens of Palestinian families from the city center, in addition to establishing hundreds of settlement units to expand nine settlements established south of Hebron after seizing large areas of land planted with olive trees .
Member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Wasel Abu Yousef, stressed that settlement operations flagrantly violate international legitimacy resolutions, especially Security Council Resolution No. 2334, which confirms the illegality of settlements as a war crime and a flagrant violation of the Geneva Conventions and the rights of the Palestinian people, calling on the United Nations and the International Criminal Court to intervene urgently To stop the occupation’s settlement plans and crimes against the Palestinian people aimed at preventing the establishment of an independent Palestinian state geographically connected to its capital, Jerusalem.
