Landsberg - A parking garage for employees is to be built on the site of the Edeka logistics center in the Frauenwald industrial park.
Since the intended location is on the current parking lot, no additional area needs to be sealed.
The little ringed plover should feel comfortable on the roof of the building.
The measure is related to the planned expansion of the central warehouse of Edeka Südbayern.
As reported, a further 18 hectares in the Frauenwald are being developed as an industrial area.
Edeka apparently wants to build another building and additional storage space in the east of the existing central warehouse.
The new vehicle parking spaces are required for the increasing number of employees.
The parking garage with a total area of almost 3,400 square meters is to be built in the northwest of the property.
There it is outside the building limit, but the building committee of the city council unanimously gave the project the okay, because green and compensation areas remain unaffected, as it said in the lecture.
The building itself is to be greened on two facades.
In addition, the roof areas are covered with gravel in such a way that they can serve as a compensation area and as a habitat for the little ringed plover.
The bird has settled in the planning area for the expansion of the company.
After its original habitat - gravel islands and flat banks of unspoilt rivers - has largely disappeared, the little ringed plover can now almost only colonize man-made substitute biotopes such as vegetation-free gravel soils.
