The North Rhine-Westphalian AfD meets from today (6 p.m.) to Sunday in Essen's Grugahalle for a state election meeting.
The delegates vote on the line-up for the state elections on May 15, 2022.
The election of the top spots on their national list is expected to be on Saturday morning.
Landtag parliamentary group leader Markus Wagner is running for first place.

Overall, the AfD is planning to choose 25 places on the list.

The new AfD parliamentary group in the state parliament re-elected its chairman Nikolaus Kramer after a four-hour session.
Kramer's preferred candidate for the post of Parliamentary Managing Director, Thomas de Jesus Fernandes, on the other hand, had to admit defeat to MP Thore Stein.
"The majority of the parliamentary group decided differently and of course - as it should be - I support this majority decision," said Kramer on Friday after the election.

The North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament celebrates its 75th anniversary next Wednesday (October 6th) with high-ranking guests.
The President of the Federal Constitutional Court, Stephan Harbarth, was invited as the keynote speaker, according to the invitation to the ceremony on Thursday.
