Basketball Bundesliga team Alba Berlin celebrated its second victory in the Euroleague.
On Friday evening the capital club won after a strong defensive performance in front of 4658 spectators at the Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade with 78:63 (38:25).
Alba is in the middle of the table after five matchdays.
The best thrower from Berlin was Maodo Lo with 17 points.
Berlin coach Israel Gonzalez had to do without Tim Schneider for a short time because of a gastrointestinal infection.
For this, Christ Koumadje was in the squad for the first time this season.
However, the 2.21 meter center was not used.
The defensive ranks dominated from the start, and both teams found it difficult to attack.
After initially taking the lead from Roter Stern, Alba got better and better into the game.

The basketball players from Syntainics MBC were eliminated in the cup round of 16.
The Weißenfelser clearly lost their guest appearance at s.Oliver Würzburg on Sunday with 78:97 (34:49).
Nicolas Carvacho (18), William Buford (17) and Cameron Hunt (13) played a key role in ensuring that the Lower Franconians made it into the top eight.
For the Weißenfelser only Nikola Rebic and Jamel Morris (17 each) scored double digits.

Euroleague: Bayern basketball players just lose in Tel Aviv
The basketball players of FC Bayern Munich started the new Euroleague season with a defeat.
At the Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv, last year's surprise team in the Euroleague just lost 68:69 (32:40) - despite a furious comeback after 17 points behind in the first half.
The best thrower on the Munich side was Deshaun Thomas on Thursday evening with 15 points.

In the second quarter it got hectic in the noisy hall because the hosts disagreed with some of the referee's decisions.
Alba was unimpressed and defended very well.
The Serbs could only score two points in five and a half minutes.
And the Berliners moved away to 28:12.
After the break, the German champions were still able to hold a double-digit lead, but the hosts were now stronger offensively and Alba left some open throws.
But they stayed calm.
A good five minutes before the end, the lead was again 16 points (69:53).
The Berliners held the tour confidently until the end.
