On Thursday, October 21, there was a value above 400 in a Bavarian district for the first time since mid-April. This is shown by the figures from the Robert Koch Institute, which are published every morning at 3.15 a.m. With a value of 416.6 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week, the Berchtesgadener Land also has the highest incidence nationwide.

However, only Bavarian cities and districts can be found on the following eight places on the hotspot list.

The nine highest 7-day incidences * nationwide in rural districts or urban districts come from the Free State.

Behind the Berchtesgadener Land are the districts of Mühldorf am Inn with 399.2, Traunstein with 375.2 and Straubing-Bogen with 347.9.

In the whole of Bavaria the incidence is now 141. This is the second highest value in Germany.

Thuringia has the highest incidence with 172.2.

In the meantime, however, the incidence is no longer the most important value for the introduction of corona protective measures in Bavaria.

Rather, this is the hospital traffic light, which according to the Bavarian Ministry of Health in the Free State remains on green.

However, the incidence figures give an impression of the development of the infection process.

They are based on the report from the RKI from Friday morning and can still change afterwards.

Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn had only a few days ago called for the "epidemic situation" in Germany to end at the end of November.

This simplifies the decision on measures such as lockdowns and the like.

SPD health expert Karl Lauterbach had expressed his amazement at this proposal in view of the increasing numbers.

End of the epidemic situation: Söder warns - "a bit defenseless"
