The water prices in the area of the water association Berglern will rise in some cases drastically on January 1, 2022: the basic fee for most of the meters from 48 to 78 euros, the price per cubic meter from 73 to 87 cents.
At the association assembly, the administration provided figures that make it clear why the water price increase is unavoidable.
Berglern - The Zweckverband recorded a full deficit of a good 65,000 euros in 2019.
In 2018 he had shown a profit of almost 29,000 euros.
The balance sheet as of December 31, 2019 shows, among other things, liabilities of 461,000 euros.
As reported, the upcoming increase has recently led to considerable debates, including the fact that Michael Gruber (SPD, Wartenberg) rushed ahead in April with a preparation of the figures from his point of view in the municipal council.
The mayor and chairman of the association, Anton Scherer (BBL, Berglern), told the local newspaper at the time: "The Berglerner Gruppe Wasser Zweckverband is still one of the cheapest ones far and wide."
The business accounts have now been completed on time.
It must be submitted because the WZV is a corporation under public law.
Gruber didn't want to comment on the numbers either.
A tax consultancy works for the Zweckverband, the association assembly had no need for discussion overall.
