The Special Representative of the Russian President to the Middle East and African Countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, discussed with Syria's Ambassador to Moscow, Dr. Riad Haddad, the developments of the situation in Syria and its surroundings.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the meeting focused on issues of advancing a political solution to the crisis in Syria on the basis of Security Council Resolution 2254.
During the meeting, Ambassador Haddad touched on a number of urgent issues on the agenda of the Syrian-Russian Permanent Committee for Economic, Commercial, Scientific and Technical Cooperation.
In turn, the Russian side expressed condolences to the families and relatives of the victims of the terrorist bombing that took place in Damascus yesterday.
