Practically at the last moment, a bank employee and the police prevented a fraud.
The victim was a 74-year-old Tölzer.
Bad Tölz - The scam is not new: A 74-year-old Tölz was promised a profit of 38,500 euros on the phone on Wednesday.
A German-speaking woman arranged the alleged handover of the suitcase with the pensioner.
In order to benefit from the winnings, the man from Tölz had to get Google Play Cards beforehand for 1000 euros, the man was told.
The pensioner's bank advisor calls the police
The Tölzer's bank advisor, who became aware of the facts, notified the police.
The officers first clarified the man on the phone and then drove to his home.
At this point he had already bought prepaid cards for 100 euros.
Even the police on the phone did not deter the fraudster
When the fraudster called again, she tried to elicit the individual codes on the prepaid cards.
The Tölzer then handed the call over to the police officers.
The caller was obviously not impressed by this.
After the phone call with the police, there were three more attempts to elicit the code from the pensioner.
