A group of specialist doctors organized an event to educate women about the importance of early detection of breast cancer, by riding bicycles and circling the streets of Aleppo, carrying awareness and encouraging banners to urge women to take the initiative to get tested.

Dr. Imad Sultan, a specialist in gynecology, director of the Governmental Maternity Hospital and President of the Family Planning Association, explained in a statement to SANA reporter the importance of this activity, as we are in the pink month for early detection of breast cancer in order to educate women and alert them to the dangers of this disease and the need to conduct early detection tests.

Dr. Irfan Jalouk of the Cancer Control Society and president of the Cycling Club in Aleppo pointed out the role of this activity in educating women about the seriousness of the disease and promoting the culture of conducting periodic examinations for them without hesitation.

Khalifa Kassa, physiotherapist and head of the Medical and Health Professions Syndicate in Aleppo, pointed out that this event aims to emphasize the important role of sports and special exercises for breast cancer cases, while specialist Muhammad Abu Hashem pointed out that sports and medicine are closely linked in many pathological conditions, especially cancer.

Dr. Rasem Ghanaimi, who participated in the event, stated that the participants set out from Al-Amara roundabout, passing through Saadallah Al-Jabri Square, to the Citadel of Aleppo, in order to convey an important message to women about the importance of breast self-examination through banners that include awareness-raising phrases about cancer and encouraging early detection, which raises rates of breast cancer. cure and reduce mortality rates.

Volunteer Muhammad Qata’ from the Family Planning Association pointed to the need to support, empower and encourage women through these targeted activities, which include awareness slogans about breast cancer, while the young participant, Talia Agha, drew attention to the importance of shedding light on the symptoms of the disease and how to detect it and raising awareness about its risks to women.
