A shoplifter wearing only underpants and a sweater was caught on Thursday in Lippstadt (Soest district).
As the police announced on Friday, the 35-year-old man entered a shop in the city around 3 p.m. - only dressed in underpants and a sweater.
There he tried to steal a pair of jeans - and stowed them in his underpants.
Lippstadt - That couldn't work.
The officers who were summoned were amazed when, during the inspection, a pair of socks - apparently stolen from a neighboring shop - came to light in his underwear.
The 35-year-old had to go to the police station.
There, the officers provided him with a pair of shoes and trousers from the police stock.
A breath alcohol test on the man showed the astonishing value of 4.38 per mille.
