2021-10-22T09:04:57.708Z

The Minister of Health believes that the recall of the vaccination and the barrier gestures "are running out of steam" within the population.

It is a call to order formulated by Olivier Véran.

Invited on BFMTV / RMC this Friday morning, October 22, the Minister of Solidarity and Health called on the French to remain vigilant.

To ensure that the population remains on the alert, a new national campaign on barrier gestures will be launched next week.

It is a question of recalling "

all these gestures which were in the daily life of the French and which one all tends a little to leave aside, thinking that the threat is less present

".

In order to alleviate a "shortness of breath" in the reminder of the vaccination for those concerned and to maintain barrier gestures, new TV and radio spots should therefore circulate within a few days.

They will "

remind the French that it is important to be careful because there is the Covid, there is the flu, (...) bronchiolitis, gastro that will happen and there are sufficient means simple to reduce the risk of being contaminated.

While temperatures are cooling off in favor of autumn, Olivier Véran has also observed "

an increasing trend

", "

a small surge

" in cases of Covid-19 in Europe.

No alarmist discourse for all that, since "

we do not yet measure health impact in France

".

There is no increase in hospitalizations like last fall.

Why ?

Because the population is massively vaccinated,

”insisted the minister.

On Wednesday, a new text on health measures was narrowly adopted in the National Assembly.

The tool, which Olivier Véran welcomed, should allow the executive to "

continue to take long-term measures

".
