The termination without notice of the former managing director of the Frankfurter Arbeiterwohlfahrt (Awo), Jürgen Richter, was legal.

The Federal Labor Court rejected a complaint by the judge, as it confirmed on Friday upon request.

Richter had appealed against a decision of the state labor court.

The Awo district association stated that this was an important milestone in the processing of the scandal surrounding judges and his leadership clique.

Frankfurt / Main - With the decision, all of Richter's claims “from a financially completely excessive termination agreement failed, the content of which he himself had significantly influenced”.

The regional labor court had decided that the district association had effectively terminated the employment relationship on January 28, 2020.

The allegation is justified that Richter endangered the assets of the district association in 2015.

As the sole managing director, he wanted to arrange for a fee to be paid, although he knew that the fee claim was not justified.

In doing so, he had violated his obligation not to jeopardize the economic interests of the district association.

The regional labor court had not allowed the appeal to the Federal Labor Court.

On the other hand, Richter had recently appealed with a non-admission complaint that was unsuccessful.

The termination is then legally binding.

At the Frankfurter Awo, millions of dollars in damage are said to have occurred, among other things, due to excessive salaries and luxury company cars.
