The millions of projects are piled up in the Freising wealth budget. The good news: the biggest chunks such as the Asamsanierung and western bypass will soon be swallowed.

The millions of projects are piled up in the Freising wealth budget.

The good news: the biggest chunks such as the Asamsanierung and western bypass will soon be swallowed.

Freising

- item 404: 100,000 euros - Christmas lights.

This is what it says in the draft budget for the year 2022, which the Freising Finance Committee discussed on Wednesday.

15 poinsettias are still missing when Obere Hauptstrasse is rebuilt.

Not little - but a small amount compared to item 137: 52.275 million euros - borrowing.

Civil engineering, building construction, the finance department: there were many “smaller” amounts that were scrutinized on Wednesday.

And there were many large "chunks" that you could read in the figures.

It started with 480,000 euros, which they want to spend on the Karwendelpark in 2022 - a project “that we've been pushing for ages”, says Alois Spangler, the civil engineering department manager.

He is also allowed to spend 2.5 million euros in his area for the further redesign of the inner city, of which 1.4 million alone go to the completion of the Moosach opening.

Both projects will continue into 2023, which is why the financial plan includes a further 860,000 or 3.9 million euros.

Asam removal will devour more than 25 million in the next two years

The same picture with building construction: Mammoth projects in the city of Freising will continue in 2022.

And they will shape the budget for 2023 and beyond, although the end of funding is often in sight.

Example: the renovation of the Asam complex.

A total of 13 million are earmarked for this in 2022, and another 12.4 million for 2023.

Eight million euros are earmarked for the expansion of the Vötting elementary school in the coming year, with 17.3 million euros in 2023 and eleven million euros in 2024.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The Steinpark schools appear for the last time in the property budget: With the 23.73 million euros set, the measure is to be completed in 2022.

The residential construction on Katharina-Mair-Straße will then also be completed with EUR 4.365 million.

An end to the investments is also in sight for the western bypass: in 2022 there are still 2.3 million euros in the budget, in the following years only 550,000 euros each.

One of the mammoth urban projects is the construction of the Steinpark schools, which will cost more than 20 million euros in the coming year.

But then you swallowed this big chunk, because the construction work should be completed in 2022.

These large expenditures are of course also offset by income from grants, which were also shown in the figures of chamberlain Matthias Nogly: In the coming year, 2.24 million euros are expected for the asam removal, with a subsidy of 11.125 million for the Steinpark- Schools, hopes for 5.5 million for the inner city redesign, seven million for the west bypass and 5.8 million for the project on Katharina-Mair-Straße.

A solid borrowing of 52 million euros is planned

But none of this is enough to cover the investments: 14 million euros have to be taken from the reserve, but above all, almost 52.3 million euros have to be provided as borrowing.

That sounds worse than it is likely to come, because borrowings of over 36 million euros had already been planned for this year.

Lord Mayor Tobias Eschenbacher wanted to know from Nogly how much of it had been recorded so far this year.

The answer: nothing.

And that was good news.
