The forest is calling - or better said: Grünwald!

The Munich caterers Florian Gürster and Yvonne Mehrfeld took over the historic forester's house in Wörnbrunn two years ago and turned it into a beautiful tavern.

The menu features modern interpreted classics such as char with artichoke, onion mousseline and sugar peas (28 euros) or beef fillet with gnocchi, celery and truffle (38 euros).

“Deer graze right in front of the door, and there is a tree swing on the green space next door, where you can take great photos,” says Gürster.

A top address for cyclists and day-trippers, for example, a wonderful promenade leads towards Unterhaching.

Wörnbrunn 1, 82031 Grünwald, Wed. to Fri. 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., Sat./Sun.
