Berlin's SPD chairman Franziska Giffey sees the joint exploratory paper decided a week ago as a good basis for coalition negotiations with the Greens and the Left.
"Our social democratic handwriting can be clearly seen in the exploratory paper," said Giffey of the German Press Agency before the negotiations began on Friday.

The agreed 19 guidelines included an alliance for new residential construction and affordable housing, a “restart program” for the economy, the expansion of the subway and more staff for the police.
"In negotiations we will now substantiate all the guidelines in terms of content and content and forge a coalition agreement by the end of November that can be passed by all three parties in December," said Giffey.
