From Brussels, the president spoke to defend the inflation compensation of 100 euros, announced by Jean Castex on Thursday evening, calling it a "fair and targeted" measure.
"The measures adopted by the government will make it possible to protect our fellow citizens in the long term", added the president, referring to a rise in energy prices, in particular fuel, linked "to a shock on the markets due to the global recovery ”.
In total, more than 38 million French people will receive this aid of 100 euros.
It targets people earning less than 2,000 euros net per month before withholding tax and excluding activity bonus.
Scholarship students will also be concerned.

The amount of this aid has been set at 100 euros and wants to compensate for the additional 80 euros spent by the French this year, due to the increase in fuel prices (based on 9 cents per liter more at the pump on l year and an average distance traveled by the French of 14,000 km).
