The St. Benedikt Kindergarten in Ebersberg has not existed that long.
Nevertheless, the building now has to be renovated.
The reason is massive water damage.

- From one day to the next, the Catholic kindergarten St. Benedikt in Ebersberg was under water.
A tap on the first floor had broken.
“In the evening everything was still good, we didn't notice it until the next morning,” says kindergarten director Adrian Bonetsmüller.
But it didn't just stay on the ground floor: the water flowed down the stairs into the basement.
The water in the cellar was several centimeters high, reports the manager.
The fire brigade and volunteers work for hours with the drainage
The entire Friday morning, the staff as well as the volunteer fire brigade and volunteer helpers from the parents' council were busy drying the building again.
How high the amount of damage is and how long the renovation of the building will take must still be determined, according to Bonetsmüller.
Experts have already been on site for this, and the results of the measurements are currently being awaited, he says.
Kindergarten children have to find temporary accommodation elsewhere
“Now it's a matter of seeing where we can go with the children,” says the director.
He and the rest of those involved had already discussed this with Ebersberg's mayor Ulrich Proske in the town hall.
75 of the 96 children from 80 families have already been accommodated in the local parish home, according to Bonetsmüller.
For the remaining children, an alternative is currently being sought for the coming weeks.
