A 78-year-old woman was hit by a train in Hofgeismar in the Kassel district on Friday and was miraculously injured.
According to the Federal Police in Kassel, it was still unclear why the woman had been so reckless on the train tracks.
The accident occurred in the immediate vicinity of a level crossing.
Hofgeismar - Fortunately, the 78-year-old was only slightly touched by the train, they said.
Rescue workers took her to a hospital.
The total of 100 passengers were unharmed when the train braked and collided.
According to a federal police spokesman, train traffic in Hofgeismar was suspended for around 2.5 hours on Friday morning.
The investigation continued.
