For 26 years he was head of the district town.

After a year and a half, he was finally able to say “Servus” in the old warehouse.

Ebersberg - "Everything that turned out particularly well took a particularly long time," said former Mayor Walter Brilmayer at his "final rally" on Thursday evening in the Alter Speicher in Ebersberg, about projects that he initiated and supported during his 26-year term in office.

Due to the corona, it took a long time with his farewell party.

But if someone actually manages to fill such a large hall after a year and a half, during which he is no longer head of the town hall, it is certainly not because there is free beer and free food.

Friends, clubs, political opponents, companions - they all came because they expressed their appreciation and probably also their sympathy.

As a figure of integration in the political landscape of the district, Brilmayer is an exception.

He is someone who does not look to the press table after every word, whether all of his important words are noted there.

He's also someone who likes to stand at the edge of photos, although he knew that he would be cut away more often and then not appear in the Ebersberger Zeitung.

Wasn't as important to him as maybe to some of the other colleagues in town halls.

The fact that he was a teacher in his first life helped Brilmayer as mayor.

Somehow, his pedagogical skills helped him to ensure that the councilors in the councils finally saw his good ideas as theirs.

His political engagement has seriously endangered his health more than once.

In the event, Brilmayer will not completely forego his leadership position in the district town.

He will continue as the Ebersberg city guide.

And as you know him, he will do it with a lot of commitment and a dose of subtle humor.
