Communications Minister Yoaz Handel will meet today (Friday) with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to discuss the promotion of communications infrastructure investments as a tool to reduce disparities, regulation of social networks and other issues.
The meeting, which is considered unusual because the UN secretary general does not often meet with foreign ministers other than foreign ministers, will also be attended by Israel's ambassador to the UN, Gilad Ardan.

Last week, we reported in "Israel Today" that Communications Minister Yoaz Handel will leave for the United States this week for a planned business trip, where he will hold meetings with various senior officials and professionals in order to examine the establishment of oversight of social networks in Israel, including Facebook.
As is well known, Facebook has been under very critical magnifying glass in recent weeks, in light of developments from the investigation in the Wall Street Journal, through the major mishap the company experienced on October 4 to the incriminating testimony in the Senate of a former employee.
