The Centre for Health Protection announced that as of midnight today, two new imported cases of new coronary pneumonia are under investigation. So far, the total number of cases in Hong Kong has been 12,314.
There have been 60 cases in Hong Kong in the past 14 years, including one local case of unknown origin, and the rest are imported cases.

In the two new cases, the patients both carry the L452R variant virus, and the two female patients are 31 and 43 years old.
One person arrived in Hong Kong from the designated area in Group A, and the other arrived in Hong Kong from the designated area in Group B.
Among them, the patient of the case (No. 12318) was a close contact of a 5-year-old girl who was diagnosed earlier in the imported case (No. 12288), who was diagnosed while accompanying the girl in a public hospital.
The other patient (No. 12319) was diagnosed during isolation at the Penny's Bay Quarantine Center.

The 31-year-old patient (No. 12318) arrived in Hong Kong from Maldives via Doha on the flight QR818 on October 13, and a 5-year-old girl (No. 12288) was diagnosed at the airport. She developed symptoms on October 19 and was diagnosed again. Was vaccinated with AstraZeneca in the Maldives.
Another 43-year-old foreign domestic helper (No. 12319) arrived in Hong Kong from the Philippines on flight 5J272 on October 18, and was diagnosed at the Penny's Bay Quarantine Center and was vaccinated with Kexing vaccine.
