On Wednesday next week, October 27, "Israeli Cinema Day" will be held in cinemas around the country for the seventh time, as part of which it will be possible to watch Israeli films for only ten shekels.
During this day, which is an initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Association of the Film Industry, 32 new Israeli films will be screened, some of which will be screened in one-off premieres until the official date of their release.
Among the films that will be screened in theaters this day: "And there will be morning" by Eran Kolirin, the big winner at the Ophir Awards ceremony, as well as the four films that were nominated with him in the best film category: "Victory Picture" by Avi Nesher, "Death of the Cinema and My Father Also" by Danny Rosenberg, "More Than I Deserve" by Pini Tabger, and "The House on Finn Street" by Amir Manor.
Lior Ashkenazi's first film as a director, "Perfect Strangers," will also be screened, which is a local adaptation of the successful Italian film;
"Aspiration for Life" with Shlomo Braba, Gadi Yagil, Avi Kushnir and Debbie Glickman;
"Paris Boutique" with Nelly Tagar;
"Remove worry from your heart" by Tom Shoval;
"Night in Haifa" by Amos Gitai;
"Black Notebooks" by Ronit Alkabetz, directed by her brother, Shlomi Alkabetz;
"Snowland" with Shlomi Kuriat, Uri Pepper and Nati Kluger;
"Marries" Hila Saada, Dean Mirshnikov and Anat Waxman;
And many more movies.
Last year, Israeli Cinema Day was not held because of the Corona.
During this day, the members of the trio "Ma Kashur", the stars of the film "Release My Edge", who broke every possible record in the history of Israeli cinema and passed the million viewers in just four months, will be awarded a medal of appreciation.
The award is given annually to a filmmaker whose films have been watched by more than a million viewers.
