Queen Elizabeth II will spend the day (Friday) at rest and perform light work after spending the night between Wednesday and Thursday in a hospital, for the first time in years - Buckingham Palace announced, adding that the 95-year-old queen has undergone "preliminary tests".
Elizabeth, the oldest and oldest and oldest monarch in the world, returned home yesterday at Windsor Castle in west London. Officials said she was in a good mood and that she was back at work. The Queen canceled an official trip to Northern Ireland on Wednesday, after her medical staff advised her to rest. It is not clear what medical problem she is suffering from, but officials at the palace said she was not related to Corona.
"Following medical advice for a few days' rest, the Queen arrived at the hospital on Wednesday afternoon for some preliminary tests, and returned to Windsor Castle this afternoon, in a good mood," the palace said in a late-evening statement yesterday evening.
Some reporters covering the UK Royal Family have said they hope the palace does not hide information.
"We hope you can trust what the palace tells us," said Nicholas Witchell, the BBC's royal correspondent.
A royal source said the Queen was staying at King Edward VII Hospital in central London for practical reasons and that her medical staff had taken a cautious approach.
The source said she has been resting and performing only minor official tasks since returning to her desk on Thursday.
