Berlin's left-wing chairwoman Katina Schubert is entering the coalition negotiations with the SPD and the Greens with a lot of confidence.
Before the start of negotiations on Friday, Schubert told the German Press Agency that she was “really optimistic” that the talks would lead to success in the end.
"You just have to put the election programs next to each other," said the politician.
Berlin - "If all parties take their election programs seriously, then it should be possible to knit them into a sustainable and progressive government program for five years."
Schubert referred to similarities between the parties that were undisputed.
This included protecting tenants, doing a good job or stepping up climate protection.
There is also a lot of agreement on the goals of further promoting the traffic turnaround, better connecting the outskirts, ensuring a functioning administration and supporting culture.
“We mustn't save ourselves from the crisis,” added Schubert.
"That is why we want to organize financial maneuverability for the next five years."
