Kiel - Since Thursday morning (October 21) a lot has been standing still in Germany.
Many zoos have not even opened because of the storm, funerals cannot take place for safety reasons, and the railways repeatedly shut down train connections.
The damage caused by the “Hendrik” storm can be seen in large parts of the country.

Schwentinental near Schleswig-Holstein's capital Kiel was also hit by the storm.
Early on Thursday morning, fire department chief Kai Lässig saw the trunk of a tornado in his place at around 7.30 a.m.
By then, he will probably already suspect that it means a lot of work for his fire department team.
And indeed: a little later he reports of a "path of destruction" about 100 meters wide through the town.
Fire chief Lässig tells of several houses that were damaged.
Numerous trees have buried cars under them.
Garden houses, winter gardens and greenhouses were also destroyed by the tornado.

According to the Kieler Nachrichten, the situation on site has eased again.
“We were very lucky in the misfortune.
There is a lot of minor damage, nobody was seriously injured, ”explains Lässig.
“The roofers are on duty everywhere in town.” Officially, the storm over Kiel has not yet been classified as a tornado by the German Weather Service.
