The amount of subsidy will also be increased by an additional RMB 1,000.


The government launched a support plan on November 10 last year. The support plan originally scheduled to end on July 31 this year was extended to November 9.

The government stated that since the current compulsory quarantine measures in the two places have not been completely lifted, the government will extend the support plan for a further six months until May 9, 2022.

On that day or before the quarantine arrangements between Hong Kong and the Mainland expire (whichever is earlier), eligible persons can continue to receive consultation services at the Hong Kong University Shenzhen Hospital.

As of October 10, the Hong Kong University Shenzhen Hospital has arranged about 31,300 consultation appointments for qualified persons, and about 26,000 people have received consultation services.

According to the current arrangement of the plan, eligible patients are required to pay RMB 100 for each outpatient consultation service designated by the Hong Kong University Shenzhen Hospital (except for those who are designated to be exempted from medical expenses verified by the Hospital Authority), and the remaining cost difference will be paid by the support plan The total funding limit is RMB 2,000.

In response to the further continuation of the support plan, eligible patients who submit a valid application on or before November 9, 2021 and are finally verified can receive an additional subsidy of RMB 1,000 from the government on top of their original subsidy of RMB 2,000 , So that the total funding ceiling was raised to RMB 3,000 accordingly.

As for eligible patients who submitted valid applications on or after November 10, 2021 and were finally verified, their total subsidy for the six-month extension period is capped at RMB 1,000.

The government launched a special support plan in November last year, entrusting the Hong Kong University Shenzhen Hospital to provide subsidized follow-up consultation services for patients who have booked appointments for follow-up consultations in specialist outpatient clinics or general outpatient clinics designated by the Hospital Authority.

Patients who have a follow-up consultation period from February 17, 2020 to May 9, 2022 in the Hospital Authority's Specialist Outpatient Clinic or General Outpatient Clinic can submit the required supporting documents to the Hong Kong University Shenzhen Hospital and apply.

The service and funding scope of the project remain unchanged, covering major specialist and general outpatient services provided by the HA, including anesthesiology (including pain clinics only), cardiothoracic surgery, clinical oncology, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, and gynecology , Internal Medicine, Neurosurgery, Obstetrics, Orthopedics and Traumatology (Orthopedics), Pediatrics and Surgery.
