"Too few young people are interested in it," said Bolte of the German press agency.

The jazz camp "First Steps!", Which will take place for the first time on the weekend, is intended to provide a remedy.

This is where young talents get to know each other and get enthusiastic about the genre of music.

Sondershausen - The hoped-for solution to the offspring problem was copied from the neighboring state of Saxony-Anhalt.

There, too, the offspring did not stand in line, said Bolte.

With the introduction of the camp, however, interest increased.

This effect is now also desired for Thuringia.

The networking of young jazz musicians in Thuringia should also be promoted in this way.

“Something had to happen in any case,” said project developer Bolte.

Above all, young jazz talents in southern and northern Thuringia “have been cooking their own soup”.

25 beginners and advanced learners between the ages of 13 and 24 from all over the Free State have registered for the local camp.

They play jazz instruments such as saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, flugelhorn, piano, electric guitar, bass, drums or sing.

Until Sunday they are supposed to jam together with the Landesjugendbigband, "the most talented jazz musicians from Thuringia".

The big final concert on Sunday, however, will not take place in public, contrary to the initial plan, because the incidences in the circle have shot up too much, ”said Bolte.

He wanted such an effect only for the youth numbers in Thuringia.
