Matthew Hutchins, husband of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, spoke to "Insider" by phone and said, "I don't think there are words to communicate the situation" after the death of his wife.
She was fatally wounded Thursday when actor Alec Baldwin fired a prop pistol on the set of the movie "Rust," according to law enforcement.
"I will not be able to comment on the events or the process that we are going through at the moment, but I appreciate that everyone has been very understanding," he told "Insider."
"I think we will need a little time before we can really encapsulate his life in a way that is easy to communicate," added Matthew Hutchins.
In a statement, Baldwin said he is cooperating with the police investigation and was in contact with Matthew Hutchins.
"There are no words to convey my shock and sadness over the tragic accident," Baldwin tweeted.
