The number of new infections with the corona virus continues to rise - this week even a new annual high was measured.
The high number of late registrations also ensures that the official incidence number lags behind the real events.
The reported corona cases in the city of Munich are now again reaching values like at the peak of the wave last spring.
For Wednesday, October 19, the city's health department now gives a corrected value of 544 cases - the highest value this year.
As a result of late reports, this value has more than doubled from the originally reported 241 cases.
In spring, the highest value was recorded on April 20 with 538 cases.
Corona: annual high measured in Munich
The city of Munich reports a total of 445 new corona cases this Friday, October 22nd.
This number includes 349 late registrations for the past few days.
The incidence value calculated by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) is therefore 120.7.
However, the high number of late registrations means that the value given by the RKI for Munich tends to be too low.
For example, for Wednesday, October 19, the late registrations would currently result in a value of 148.3 - instead of the officially stated 114.0.
However, the RKI does not subsequently correct the daily values.
Incidence of unvaccinated people almost ten times higher than that of vaccinated people
The breakdown of the incidences according to vaccinated and unvaccinated people is interesting.
According to this, the seven-day incidence in people not vaccinated against corona is 331.0 and in those who are fully vaccinated it is 36.4.
The vaccination quota in Munich, based on the total population, is currently 65.2 percent for primary vaccinations.
61.1 percent of Munich residents have been vaccinated twice.
So far, a total of 1,879,597 vaccinations have been received in Munich
carried out, of which 970531 first and 909 066 second vaccinations.
According to this, 14230 vaccinations were added within a week, of which 6008 were first vaccinations.
In the Munich clinics, 145 patients are currently being treated with Covid-19, 49 of them in the intensive care unit, two in intensive monitoring care.
In the city's hospitals, however, not only Munich Covid cases are housed, but also patients from the area around the city.
