Marah was eagerly listening to the lecture information about the importance of early awareness about breast cancer as part of the early detection campaign at the Al Amal Specialized Clinic for Oncology in Damascus, as part of the Pink Month activities.

Marah, the 37-year-old female employee and mother of two children, interviewed the specialist doctor about her health and eating habits, and whether or not she had received hormonal treatment earlier.

Marah received the news, as she assured Sana with patience, steadfastness and will, bearing in mind her two children, her family and her working life, indicating that she would immediately begin the treatment journey so that she could quickly return to her life and help her children build their future. Cancer does not mean death because treatment has become available due to scientific progress.

At Al-Amal Center, many women with stories similar to the story of fun, helped them by the Pink Month campaign, with the participation of the Riyadh Al-Khair volunteer team, in early detection of the tumor and making the right decision to start treatment.

Lawyer Roland Mushawah, head of the Riyadh Al-Khair Volunteer Team, stated that the team participates every year in the activities of the Pink Month, noting that the “Be Well” campaign launched by the team included 65 women on its first day, pointing out that the team helped the women to conduct echo and clinical examinations, where cases were referred. Those whose owners had lumps were referred to a specialized medical staff at the center, where they were referred for a mammogram examination within the center or at one of the centers designated for free examination by the Ministry of Health.

Moushouh pointed to the importance of raising awareness and early detection of the disease, especially among mothers who are the basis for building the family, sending a message to each mother, saying: "In order for your children to be fine, you must be well and hurry to examine yourself to detect the disease and start the treatment journey."

Lujain Kasrawi, Public Relations Officer in the Riyadh Al-Khair team, indicated that Al-Amal Center was selected based on the joint cooperation agreement between the Center under the supervision of Dr. .

Director of Al-Amal Center, Dr. Hassan Al-Hassan, who gave an awareness lecture on the importance of early detection of breast cancer, available treatment methods and modern methods of treatment, pointed out the importance of awareness against the disease and its impact on society, stressing the increase of awareness among Syrian women against the disease and their acceptance of it and breaking the barrier against breast cancer.

Al-Hassan drew attention to the importance of conducting the examination and consulting the doctor in the event of any changes to prevent complications at an early stage, indicating that Al-Amal clinic participates annually in the campaign through awareness lectures, clinical examination and echocardiography, and directs women to perform a mammogram or biopsy, with the aim of leaving a positive impact in the community.
