In order to help landlords and meet the needs of many guests for enjoyment outdoors, Moosburgs Grüner is calling for outdoor catering to be permitted even in winter.

Moosburg

- to enable outdoor catering in the winter months and to design the cityscape together with the hosts: This key message includes a proposal from the Green Group to the Moosburg city council, which the committee will deal with next Monday. “Gastronomy is an essential key to life in the city center,” said parliamentary group spokesman Johannes Becher, explaining the initiative. "The restrictions caused by the corona pandemic are putting a strain on the catering trade." Despite an increasing number of vaccinated people and the lifting of a number of measures, it will still take some time before the economic and social effects are completely overcome. And: "Many people feel safer outdoors and prefer outdoor catering."

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Usually, sitting outside is over from October 31st

Because this in Moosburg is limited to October 31st after years of practice and then has to be dismantled, the Greens are calling for a rethinking of the cut-off date "and instead to allow the catering establishments to use it for the beautiful days in the winter months".

With regard to the cityscape, the permit should only be granted to those businesses that actually intend to use it regularly.

Becher is convinced that “for the future, outdoor catering will become increasingly important economically and for revitalizing the city center”. Because the city's long-term goal of a coherent design of street furniture has not yet been achieved and the resolution and implementation of a design statute for the city center are not yet in sight, the Greens propose a dialogue: "A round table with the participation of all those concerned can help, in order to develop future prospects for the location of the outdoor catering and for quality standards with regard to the cityscape, ”said Becher. “Affected” means the innkeepers, but representatives of the Moosburg Marketing Cooperative and the city administration must at least take part in the votes, according to the Green parliamentary group's paper.
