In Forstern they are in the fortunate position of having someone in the house with their social contact, Mathias Weigl, who also takes care of the issue of homelessness.
“This puts us ahead of other communities,” said Streu.
But Weigl uses the specialist unit and its expertise as a valuable network, which is why it should definitely be preserved.
"I take a critical view of that, because there is a certain duplication," said Maria Feckl (Greens).
In addition, other bodies are responsible for creating social housing for people with low incomes - the state or the federal government, for example.
The issue of homelessness, on the other hand, is “passed back to the municipalities as the last at the end of the list.

Sebastian Klinger (CSU) found that the community should definitely support the department.

Ottenhofen
The municipality of Ottenhofen also gave the go-ahead.

The contract, initially limited to three years, will be extended for a further year if it is not terminated at least six months before the end of the core term on December 31, 2024.
For Walpertskirchen there would be annual costs of around 1200 euros, i.e. 3600 euros for the three-year contract period. On average, the Caritas social pedagogue has saved 33 households from homelessness over the past few years, the meeting informed. This was achieved through negotiations with the landlords as well as foundation and donation funds to pay rent arrears, deposits or even moving costs.
Support in looking for accommodation and placement in assisted living arrangements were also provided.
Advice on securing livelihoods, entitlement to benefits and psychological and social stabilization are just as important.
