While the pond in Straßlach was extensively renovated, the Ebertshauser pond should remain as it is.

Only a fence should provide more security.

Straßlach-Dingharting - In the past few years the community of Straßlach-Dingharting has renovated the pond in the main town, between the maypole and the town hall, and completely redesigned the bank area with some effort and around 190,000 euros. The small body of water that is available in Ebertshausen should, however, remain as it is for the time being. As the local council decided unanimously at the previous meeting, the municipality limited itself in this case to fencing the pond. The reason is, of course, the traffic safety, the administration recently examined all water bodies in the small community with experts. The result was that in the case of Ebertshausen there could well be a risk of people slipping into the water - the bank area is sloping.

However, only the water area belongs to the area of the municipality itself, most of the land around it is privately owned. Which is why the committee's willingness to invest here was kept within narrow limits. In preliminary talks, the residents had also shown no desire to contribute financially. Landscape planner Wenzel Kampschulte, who also designed the Straßlacher Weiher, would have estimated 50,000 euros for a redesign of the Ebertshausener Weiher. That was too much for everyone on the committee.

Not only Leonhard Schlickenrieder from the Greens in the local council said: “I am in favor of a fence, nothing else is out of the question”.

Because it will go right around the water, you can still sit on the benches in the bank area, one of which is beautifully made of stone.
