Anzing - The Anzing Volunteer Fire Brigade held its annual general meeting and looked back on 2020, with honors and promotions on the agenda.

The longstanding chairman Siegfried Reinefeld was given a special honor.

For his long-standing commitment to the Anzinger Wehr, he was awarded the Badge of Honor of the Anzing Fire Brigade - the highest award given by the Anzinger Wehr.

After chairwoman Tanja Bönte opened the meeting, she looked back on the association's activities in 2020.

Unfortunately, because of the corona pandemic, not too much could take place. Nevertheless, efforts were made, for example with Christmas presents for all members, to “keep the club going despite all the difficulties”, according to the chairwoman in her report.

Anniversary postponed

The pandemic also made it necessary to postpone the anniversary of the 150th anniversary of the Anzinger Wehr, which was actually planned for this year, to 2022. It is now under the motto “150 + 1 years of the Anzing volunteer fire brigade”. From July 21st to 25th, there will be celebrations with numerous highlights such as a classic car meeting, fire brigade competitions and a performance by Django Asül.

Commander Tobias Bönte and his deputy Michael Belmer looked back on missions and exercises in 2020.

No exercises could be held for several months, which is why “only” 73 exercises were recorded.

With 80 deployments, 2020 was also a little quieter than previous years in this regard.

The commanders explain this decline mainly to less car traffic during the lockdown.

During this time, there was clearly little to do, especially on the autobahn.

"Return to normal"

The commanders were happy that despite all the difficulties they had not lost any members. Only two resignations due to relocation are to be complained about. The commanders thanked all active members for their willingness to patiently endure and support the restrictions caused by Corona. “The last year and a half have been the most difficult in my ten years as a commander and deputy,” admitted Bönte. The support of his deputy, the other managers and all those active helped him a lot during this time and he is very grateful for that. "I hope we have survived the worst and can gradually return to normalcy," said Bönte.

Mayor Kathrin Alte thanked everyone in the fire brigade.

They did an invaluable service to the community.

As mayor, it is her job to get this message across.

District fire inspector Daniel Eisen and the new district fire chief Hubert Bichler used their speech to report news from the district fire inspection.

Both also emphasized the good cooperation between the Anzing fire brigade and the district fire inspection.

Honors and promotions

In the subsequent honors and promotions, David Tot was officially accepted as a new member.

Michael Hampl (fire fighter), Markus Weberstetter (head fire fighter), Sebastian Weberstetter (fire extinguisher) and Michael Belmer (chief fire extinguisher) were promoted.

Daniel Diefenthaler, Lisa Fritsch, Matthias Ganslmaier and Markus Muck (10 years each), Dana Vordermaier (20 years), Michael Belmer and Florian Schneider (30 years each) and Stephan Amesmaier (40 years) were honored for many years of active service.

Furthermore, Josef Kneißl was honored for 60 years of membership in the Anzing fire brigade.

A special honor was given - as mentioned at the beginning - to the long-time chairman Siegfried Reinefeld.

Reinefeld was chairman of the fire brigade association for more than 20 years and active fire service for more than 40 years, which he had to finish in March of this year due to age.

"You were always there when you needed a helping hand and still are today," said Franz Hartl, chairman of the honorary committee, in his laudatory speech.

Siegfried Reinefeld accepted the honorary badge to a standing ovation from the meeting.
