Former European Championship medalist Marco Mathis ended his career as a professional cyclist at the end of the year. The 27-year-old from Meckenbeuren near Friedrichshafen returned from the road to the track at the beginning of 2020 and had participated in a large part of the Olympic preparation for the track four, but missed the Tokyo start due to the qualification rules.
