Fans of martial arts did not find a difference in the strength of the competition between the first round matches and the final round in the Republic Championship for clubs and sports houses for men and women for Taekwonjutsu organized by the Higher Committee for Martial Arts and concluded today at Al-Jalaa Sports Hall in Damascus.
More than 80 players from different governorates and sports bodies entertained the audience with performances and technical skills in the tournament, whose competitions in the men’s category ended with the Police Club winning first place with 5 gold, 3 silver and one bronze, leaving the second place for the Hama and As-Suwayda teams equally after being tied with the same balance of gold and silver medals. And two bronze, while the lions came third with gold, silver and bronze.
As for the women’s category, the results of its competitions resulted in the victory of Al-Suwayda team and Al-Wathba Club in first place with gold, silver and bronze for each, followed by Al-Reem Center with gold and silver, then Tartous team with silver and two bronze.
Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Games and Martial Arts, Adnan Al-Masry, explained that the committee seeks, through its organization of tournaments, to raise the technical level of the players, in addition to its focus on qualifying training and arbitration cadres in the nine games under the umbrella of martial arts and approved by the committee.
The head of the Taekwonjutsu Technical Committee, Maad Ward, revealed that this sport is one of the games that are witnessing a good demand for its practice, and it has been approved in Syria since 2009. Next period.
In turn, referee Jalal Ezz El-Din pointed out that the arbitration was good, and this tournament was an opportunity for the referees to prove their worth and an opportunity to develop arbitration skills, indicating at the same time the specificity of arbitration in this sport that depends on pointing and calculating knockouts.
A number of top-ranked players expressed their happiness at winning the final matches of the tournament within their weights, especially as they fought strong competitions to reach the final fights, pointing out at the same time that they are ready to make more efforts in preparation for participating in the upcoming tournaments and achieving remarkable results.
