Etna: eruptive cloud, ash and lapilli on A18 and Taormina

Copious material fallen on the north-east side of the volcano (ANSA)  'Rain' of ash and lapilli on the Etna villages, but also on a section of the Catania-Messina motorway and on Taormina and its tourist district. It is the effect of the last paroxysm of the highest active volcano in Europe which once again affected the South-East crater with a lava fountain, violent roars and the emission of a high and intense eruptive cloud . Pyroclastic material, including small 'lava stones', precipitated copiously especially in the north-east of the Etna slope.

In Taormina, the phenomenon intrigued tourists who shot videos and took photos and selfies.
