Memmingen - A real exchange on site: Not only those responsible at the State Technical and Vocational School in Memmingen (FOS / BOS) were delighted, but also Mark Videvic and Arleta Alaridová.

The two attend the English-German commercial academy in Prague and take part in the ERASMUS + exchange program with companies in the region.

Arleta Alaridová is doing her internship at the Management Centrum Schloss Lautrach, Mark Videvic at Stetter GmbH. The third intern was unfortunately unable to take up his position at the Spiegelschwab bookstore at short notice due to illness. The exchange, which runs until October 30th, came about through the school partnership of the Memmingen FOS / BOS, which had signed the partnership agreement in Prague in January 2020. Since then, however, there has only been contact on a virtual level.

Lord Mayor Manfred Schilder thanked the school management of the FOS / BOS as well as the representatives of the companies for their commitment and, like the participants, was happy about this first visit after the involuntary Corona break. “Because only through real contact and personal encounters can real togetherness arise. And with it a European feeling among the people, ”said the Mayor of Memmingen at the reception in the town hall. He wished them both a pleasant stay here in the region and many wonderful experiences - in their professional and private lives.

The Czech partners are currently in the 11th grade in the commercial and administrative branch of their school and speak German and English in addition to Czech.

In addition to the internship, they also take part in a language course and a supporting program.

The supporting program includes city tours, company tours and excursions in and around Memmingen, reports school principal Karl Albrecht.

In May 2022, in return, six high school students studying “International Economics” are expected to go to Prague and gain their first professional experience there in other European countries.

The exchange is financially supported by the German-Czech Future Fund and is co-financed by ERASMUS +.
