There are quite a few dating shows on television now.
Now another one has been added: With “Let's Love” on RTL Zwei, the first date lasts at least 24 hours.
Two singles move into a small hut.
Alf Klostermann, 73, from Grünwald took part.
Isn't he afraid of being ridiculed on TV?
We spoke to the funky pensioner.
Mr. Klostermann, have you found love?
I am not allowed to say anything about that, I have signed a contract.
That is top secret.
How was the shooting?
It was a really great experience.
You had to be together for at least 24 hours.
So you could get to know each other really well, locked in a great hut in Bavaria.
Did you know your partner before shooting started?
No, it was a blind date.
But I hadn't had any negative thoughts before the date.
Why has it not worked out with love so far?
I've been married twice.
I have a great daughter from my second marriage.
Unfortunately, the marriage failed after seven years.
I was already at a dating show once.
Hotel Herzklopfen was called the, it was filmed in Switzerland.
I fell in love with a candidate while filming and we were together for a while.
But then there were some differences in everyday life.
You are a part-time actor. Is the show also a professional springboard?
Since RTL ZWEI is a national broadcaster, a lot of people will see me.
There may be inquiries from companies, agencies and other broadcasters because I would like to play smaller roles again.
I hope that too.
Now let's be honest: Are you seriously looking for a woman there?
Really honest, I'm looking for a suitable partner.
I'm not naive, but the dating show was an opportunity.
It was a way to get to know a partner.
With Corona, it's not that easy anymore.
RTL formats have a bad reputation. How embarrassing was the shooting?
I was so positively surprised.
The production team did a great job.
They asked about me whether I was feeling well.
No uncomfortable moments?
No one.
From A to Z it was great.
Aren't you afraid of being ridiculed in front of all of Germany?
No.
I am self-confident.
I think I look pretty good for my age.
That's why I'm not afraid of being ridiculed.
I don't take myself too seriously and I can laugh at myself.
I also get a lot of encouragement, for example on Facebook.
How did your family and friends react to the news that you were going to be on a dating show?
You already know that.
Good feedback came from all sides.
In the tennis club they thought it was good too.
My daughter was a little more critical.
But it's my life.
