Its reporting platform for evidence of tax fraud should only complement current practice.

But the outrage seems to have only briefly been loud and violent.

Berlin / Stuttgart - After the sharp criticism and the Internet networks against the nationwide first online platform for information on tax fraud, the number of complaints has decreased significantly.

In the first few days alone, 743 insults, fake entries and threats were received on the portal, quote “Heilbronner Voice” and “Südkurier” from the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Finance (Saturday).

In the past four weeks, however, there were only seven insulting submissions.

“The situation has calmed down.

For us, this is an indication that the concern that the portal would be massively denounced has not been confirmed, "the newspapers quote the spokesman for the ministry.

Figures will only be published next March about how many serious information and documents have been received via the online portal.

Baden-Württemberg's finance minister Danyal Bayaz (Greens) had the portal activated at the end of August in order to intensify the fight against tax evaders.

Thereupon it had hailed criticism from, among others, the Union and FDP, but also from many mostly anonymous private individuals.

Bayaz pointed out that there are similar projects in other federal states, just not online.
