A US study shows that cognitive impairment known as brain fog may persist for months in Covid-19 patients, even among those who have not been hospitalized.

According to CNN, the study showed that about a quarter of Covid 19 patients in the health system registry at Manot Sinai American Hospital had some problems with their memory, as they collected data from 740 patients with corona who were not more than 49 years old and had no history of dementia, and the cognitive performance of each patient was assessed. And analysis of the frequency of cognitive impairment among patients.

The researchers found that 15 percent showed a lack of vocal fluency while speaking, 16 percent showed a lack of mental skills, 18 percent showed a deficit in the speed of cognitive processing, while 23 percent had memory recovery.

The researchers noted that hospitalized patients were more likely to have impaired attention, executive functioning, language fluency and memory, and had significant effects on occupational, psychological and functional life compared to some outpatients with cognitive impairment.
