Winter and thus cross-country skiing on Kreuther Flur are just around the corner, but last year's annoyance with the owners, over whose properties the cross-country trails lead, has not yet subsided.

Kreuth - In order to be able to continue offering a skating trail in the direction of the Bavarian Forest, Mayor Josef Bierschneider (CSU) has negotiated a compromise: In the section between Vorderalm and the parking lot, at the so-called Camelly Cross, a machine is to be set up before the start of the season the cross-country skiers pay their trail fee.

Municipality responsible for the maintenance of the trails

Normally, the athletes in Kreuth pay their obolus for the use of the cross-country trails through the parking fee.

Because both the parking spaces at the cross-country ski runs in Kreuth itself, at Wildbad Kreuth and Klamm, as well as the cross-country ski run are maintained by the community.

The preparation of the trails means a lot of effort.

For the community, which compensates the farmers and landowners on whose grounds the cross-country trails are run.

And also for the municipal building yard, which sprints the lanes in the snow.

Of course, effort for the municipality also means clearing and spreading the parking spaces.

The principle of asking to pay once for two services was decided a few years ago, checked and accepted without any problem by the majority of cross-country skiers.

But there are cross-country skiers who do not park in any of the official municipal parking spaces, but in the parking bay on the B 307 at the level of the Böckleitengraben, between Trifthütte and Vorderalm.

There is no parking fee there because the parking bay is part of the federal road.

Fence barred access

At the request and initiative of the property owners, access to the cross-country trails - especially the popular, around one kilometer long skating trail - was cordoned off by a fence at this point.

Mainly because, for agricultural reasons, they don't want cross-country skiers to run across their land here.

But the fence didn't stop them, they were put down, and the landowners were addressed weakly on top of that.

"Now they didn't want to leave any trails at this point, as long as no trail fees are charged for them," reported Mayor Bierschneider at the latest council meeting and made it clear in the same breath that these trails in particular must be preserved in the snow-sure location in front of the Bavarian Forest should.

Compromise found

In order to obtain the consent of the property owners for the tracking, he proposed as a compromise that a fee should be charged for the use of the cross-country trails from the parking bay: “The cross-country skiers who get on at the parking bay should also make their contribution - and although at the same height as the cross-country skiers who are in the official parking lots. ”Only one cannot simply set up a parking meter in the parking bay on someone else's land. In conversation with the property owners, it was therefore agreed to set up a machine near the parking lane, but on their property, specifically for paying the trail fee. The mayor asked the committee for a corresponding decision.

"This is a real mess," said Christian Bock (CSU). He considered it sensible to charge a cross-country ski trail fee in addition to the parking fee at the parking lot. Or to block the parking space. This, in turn, is not possible because this is part of the federal highway and the municipality has no control or authorization there.

Markus Wrba (FWG) had several and further suggestions. He wanted to enlarge one of the municipal parking lots, which Beer Schneider appreciated with a shake of his head: "It's already big anyway." “It's the turn of the TTT. She wants to amplify the WiFi signal, "replied Beer Schneider. And further back, in the direction of Glashütte, the radiation of the mobile network is so good that "electronic parking" works well there. After all, Wrba wanted to know how much of the income would still go to the community with all the expensive technology.

Leonhard Rohnbogner (CSU) made a sweeping plea for parking spaces such as cross-country trails to be more controlled.

And Michael Unger (FWG) urged us to hurry: “It's urgent.

Winter is just around the corner, and then the trails should be groomed. ”The local council almost unanimously agreed.

Only Christian Bock was against it.

Trail fee

The use of the skating trail for up to two hours should cost three euros, up to three hours four euros and each training session that lasts longer than four hours five euros.

The ticket from the cross-country ski machine must be carried with you.
