Bishkek-Sana
Today, Kyrgyzstan President Sadir Gabarov announced his country's refusal to establish a US air base on its territory, due to the lack of escalation of tension in the region.
Sputnik news agency quoted Gabarov as saying during a press conference regarding the establishment of a US military base in the country: “This matter is not on the table … and there will be no base for the Americans in our country,” explaining that his country “has a Russian military base … and one military base is sufficient and we are not in the process of establishing it.” Another military base for a second country, which could strain the situation on our lands.”
The Russian air base stationed in Kyrgyzstan is one of the air components of the Joint Rapid Response Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and participates in protecting the airspace of the member states of the organization.
This base includes Sukhoi 25 attack aircraft and Mi-8 helicopters.
