One of the patients was a 30-year-old foreign domestic helper who had arrived in Hong Kong from Indonesia and was diagnosed at the Penny's Bay Quarantine Center. Another crew member who had arrived in Hong Kong from Ukraine was a close contact of the earlier confirmed patient.


In addition, fewer than 10 cases were initially confirmed today.


The Centre for Health Protection announced that it is investigating 6 newly confirmed imported cases of new coronary pneumonia. So far, the total number of cases in Hong Kong has been 12,320.

A total of 62 cases have been reported in Hong Kong in the past 14 years, all of which are imported.

Among the new cases today, five have the L452R variant virus, and the test results of the remaining one are yet to be determined.

The case involved five men and one woman, aged between 30 and 69. Four people arrived in Hong Kong from a designated area in Group A (high risk), and the other two arrived in Hong Kong from a designated area in Group B (medium risk).

Case 12320 is a close contact of the imported cases (cases 12307, 12312, and 12314) confirmed earlier and was diagnosed during the accompanying case 12307 in a public hospital.

Case 12321 is a 48-year-old crew member who is a close contact of imported case 12315. He arrived in Hong Kong via KL819 from Ukraine via the Netherlands on October 19th. A fellow crew member was diagnosed earlier and he was diagnosed at the Penny's Bay Quarantine Center.

The other four people were diagnosed during the quarantine period, and one of them was diagnosed at the Penny's Bay Quarantine Center.

Case 12320 is a 35-year-old man who arrived in Hong Kong from Mongolia via South Korea by flight CX419 on October 17. A 3-year-old girl with her was the first to be diagnosed, and then two other companions confirmed the infection. Case 12322 was a 30-year-old foreign domestic helper who arrived in Hong Kong from Indonesia on flight CX776 on October 19 and was subsequently diagnosed at the Penny's Bay Quarantine Center.

Case 12323 is a 51-year-old man who arrived in Hong Kong from the UK on flight CX252 on October 19 and was subsequently diagnosed at the Kerry Hotel in Hong Kong, Hung Hom.

Case 12324 is a 47-year-old man who arrived in Hong Kong from France, Italy, and the United Kingdom on flight CX252 on October 19, and was subsequently diagnosed at the Kerry Hotel in Hong Kong, Hung Hom.

Case 12325 is a 69-year-old man who arrived in Hong Kong from France and the United Kingdom on flight VS206 on October 17, and was diagnosed during the quarantine of the Ramada Seaview Hotel in Sai Ying Pun.
