Fellheim - The new Fellheim history trail through the former Christian-Jewish Doppeldorf an der Iller was opened on October 12, 2021 as a contribution to the nationwide festival year # 2021 Jewish life in Germany in the presence of numerous dignitaries and guests of honor.
The association Cultura Kulturveranstaltungen eV and the community Fellheim have set up information stations in partnership in the historical center of the former Imperial Knighthood Hofmark Fellheim. "A Germany-wide exemplary project", acknowledged Dr. Ludwig Spänle, former minister of state and representative of the Bavarian state government against anti-Semitism, the new themed trail. The patron, retired Minister of State Josef Miller, was also pleased about the expansion of the memorial landscape around the Former Fellheim Synagogue and praised the company as an important contribution against forgetting the Nazi crimes and for a peaceful society. Minister of State and Member of Parliament Klaus Holetschek also underlined this concern in his welcoming address.
First Mayor Reinhard Schaupp and curator and chairwoman of the association Dr.
Veronika Heilmannseder emphasized that the diverse history, as it is unique in Fellheim im Allgäu and exemplarily for the Swabian rural Jewry as well as for the small imperial knighthood states, can now be read through nine information stations on earlier functional buildings and the historical settlement structure.
A walk through history is thus multifaceted and barrier-free.
The implementation of the Fellheim community was made possible by LEADER funding.
The stations are located between the town hall and the former castle along Memminger and Ulmer Straße, an information flyer with a map is available at the central station at the Kirchdorfer Straße junction, in the town hall, the bakery and the former synagogue.
