Out and about on the district roads: Committee finds out about renovation work

Bus instead of meeting room - that was on the agenda for the members of the district infrastructure committee.

Together with representatives of the District Office and the Weilheim State Building Authority, the district roads were driven.

It was about ongoing or upcoming work.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen - there are 24 district roads between Icking and the state border at Hinterriß.

As early as the end of the 1950s, the district transferred the administration of this to the State Building Authority in Weilheim, which is responsible for planning construction and maintenance measures.

The district also does not have its own building yard, but rather maintains two road maintenance departments in Bad Tölz and Wolfratshausen together with the building authority.

"We provide eight employees, procure the necessary machines and reimburse the costs for road maintenance," explained Katharina Mair from the district treasury to the committee members.

The district itself takes care of budget planning and conducts the necessary land negotiations for road projects.

Töl 12

The round trip through the district began in Greiling and Reichersbeuern.

There, the rehabilitation of the local passages (Töl 12) is on the agenda.

"We have waited because the municipalities have planned various line relocations," said Stefan Vogt from the state building authority.

Greiling is almost finished with it, so the 1.5 kilometer long through-town will be started there in 2022.

A year later, the 1.3 kilometers of the Töl 12 will follow in Reichersbeuern.

Cost point: around two million euros.

Both sections are marked in red on the map of the building authority, which means that the condition is poor.

Töl 13

A little further on - on Töl 13 north of Reichersbeuern - work is already underway.

The section north of the level crossing is as good as finished.

"Here the carriageway has been widened to six meters, the final ceiling construction will take place next week," says Vogt.

South of the railway - there will be construction next year - this widening is not possible, there it is a matter of pure preservation.

A total of 800,000 euros will be invested.

Töl 10

The Töl 10 east of Sachsenkam is not in good condition.

“Out of town, district roads would actually need a width of six meters.

We don't have that here by a long way, ”explained Martin Herda, department head at the State Building Authority.

However, only 1030 vehicles are on the road per day on the route section.

It is unclear when the step-by-step renovation of the 5.7-kilometer route with an estimated cost of four million euros will be started.

Töl 14

There is significantly less traffic on Töl 14 east of Obermühltal. There are just 310 vehicles on the road every day. The condition is bad, there are no banquets and no road drainage. 3.5 million euros would have to be invested in the five-kilometer stretch, "which actually does not meet the characteristics of a county road," said Mair. Töl 14 is not alone in this. “Only half of the district roads fulfill their actual function,” said Herda. They had already spoken to the Dietramszell community about a step down to the community road, "but that was not so well received," said Mair. No wonder, who would want to take responsibility for an unrefurbished road? Another difficulty: "I can't explain it, but part of the road runs on private property," said Mair.

Töl 6

Even less busy than on Töl 14 is on Töl 6 east of Schönrain.

136 vehicles are on the road there every day.

"Here, too, you can question the status of a district road," said Vogt.

There is a need for renovation in the amount of 1.6 million euros.

Töl 23

The condition of Töl 23 north of Peretshofen is also bad.

Over a length of 1.5 kilometers, the superstructure would have to be reinforced and banquets attached.

Construction costs of 1.1 million euros are estimated for this.

The measure has not yet been timed.

Töl 9

This also applies to Töl 9 west of Steingau.

"But it has a good expansion width," said Herda.

The estimated costs for the superstructure reinforcement, ceiling construction and paved verges: around 1.4 million euros.

Töl 21

The group made a short stop at Töl 21 near Ergertshausen.

It was less about the road and more about the bike path.

"This is a prime example of the fact that cycle path construction often fails due to land negotiations," said district treasurer Ralf Zimmermann.

In fact, there are only a few hundred meters missing between the village and the road along the road on State Road 2070. For years, negotiations have been carried out with the property owner, said District Administrator Josef Niedermaier.

But here Mair had positive news.

The notary appointment is still pending.

"But we already have the declaration of consent." Herda says that the plan is now to "definitely build the cycle path in 2022".

Töl 19

It will take longer to renew the roadway on Töl 19, which lies on the district border with Schäftlarn.

Here the Deutsche Bahn wants to remove the level crossing of the S7 that is currently at the same height.

The year 2027 is targeted for this.

Here, too, there was good news for the district.

"Until a year ago, he would have been involved in the costs," said Vogt.

That is no longer the case.

For the renovation of the 3.4 kilometer long county road, 2.4 million euros are estimated.

Töl 2

The district road with the least traffic in the district is Töl 2. The reason: "It is closed, and the Münsing community charges a user fee for it," said Niedermaier. In fact, you need a permit to drive along the extremely narrow lakeshore road past imposing villas. Here, too, there have been talks with the mayors of Münsingen for decades to transfer the road to the community, said Niedermaier. “This is purely an access road.” So far, the negotiations have of course been without result. The property conditions are also difficult there. The road runs partly on private property, but elsewhere the hedges are on public property. It is hardly possible to rectify that, said Mair. When it comes to the assignment of land, "we pay ten euros per square meter".Of course, these are not the prices that are called on the lakeshore.

A district road can also look like this: Töl 2 on the lakeshore in Münsing is closed to general traffic.

This is another reason why the district would like to hand them over to the community's responsibility.

Töl 20

The expansion of the Töl 20 in Münsing and Degerndorf has been completed.

"It was very broken, very narrow and very extended," said Vogt.

“In addition, the water was in the meadows because of the lack of street drainage.” The acquisition of the land began as early as 2014.

The expansion then took place in 2019 and 2020.

The development of the costs was encouraging: 3.25 million euros were estimated, at the moment they are 2.6 million.

Töl 7

The development is similar at Töl 7. There, subsidence was extensively renovated in 2020 and 2021 at the level of the Tölzer Reservoir, among other things.

The measure has just been completed.

Instead of 2.36 million euros, the project is expected to cost just 2.6 million euros.

Töl 5

The planned construction of the cycle path on Töl 5 from Heilbrunn in the direction of Penzberg is an everlasting theme.

Two variants north and south of the county road are examined here.

There are, however, difficulties with a listed barn or the routes are in the FFH and floodplain areas.

Martin Bachhuber, member of the state parliament, has now brought up a new variant that would cross the Loisach at an early stage and then primarily run along the Penzberger corridor.

There have already been talks with the city of Penzberg, but not yet with the landowners concerned, said Mair.

That's how long you want to be covered.

After the heavy rains in summer, the banks of the Rissbach, which the Töl 24 had come threateningly close, had to be secured.

Töl 24

There was not enough time on Monday to go to Töl 24 as well.

It leads from Vorderriß into the Eng.

After the heavy rain in July, the Rissbach had come dangerously close to the road.

At the moment only a one meter wide strip separates the road from the steep bank.

As an immediate measure, armourstones were brought in to fortify the bank.

A proper bank construction was actually planned to ensure the stability of the district road.

"However, nature conservation is now calling for an alternative test," said Herda.

The relocation of the road to a length of 600 to 800 meters is to be examined in order to make room for the Rissbach.
